If not for Adam Scott's front nine on Saturday, he might not have had to give up his green jacket to Bubba Watson.
The defending champion played his first five holes Saturday at four over, and wound up with a 40. Though he steadied himself with an even-par back nine, the damage was done. He finished the tournament in a tie for 14th at 1 over, nine strokes behind Watson.
"It stopped all my momentum and had me on the back foot, and I just couldn't go anywhere from there," Scott said.

But he leaves Augusta National in better spirits than if this had been another major.
"It's been a week I'll never forget," Scott said. "Playing a tournament as the defending champion … and all the ovations that you receive around here is amazing memories for me."
