ROCHESTER, N.Y.- After losing to Canisius, 7-2, in last year's AHA Tournament Final, Mercyhurst almost exacted revenge in this year's semifinals. Key word: Almost.

Canisius edged Mercyhurst in double overtime, 5-4, to advance to the Atlantic Hockey Conference Championship.

With the game tied at four, Stephen Farrell scored the game-winning goal for Canisius, who will play in its second straight conference title game. The Griffins are one win away from an NCAA Tournament berth.

No less drama in the other semifinal between Niagara and Robert Morris. The Purple Eagles trailed 4-2 late in the third period, before scoring two goals to tie the game.

In overtime, Robert Morris prevailed on the stick of Scott Jacklin. Robert Morris beats Niagara 5-4 in OT and will play Canisius in teh Atlantic Hockey Tournament Championship on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET in Rochester.
