(bisons.com)-Bisons right-hander Liam Hendriks has been one of the best pitchers in the IL this season.
On Sunday, the Syracuse Chiefs proved why they are the best team in the IL.
The Chiefs were able to pin Hendriks for five runs (one unearned) and went on to defeat the Bisons, 7-0, at NBT Bank Stadium on Tuesday night. Hendriks give up a season-high five runs to the league-leading Chiefs, who improved to 14 games over the .500 mark with the win.
Hendriks entered the game with a league-leading 1.82 ERA and was charged with the loss on Sunday, his first of the season. Syracuse pushed a run across in the first and third innings, before putting together a three-run fourth inning. Hendriks gave up five runs (one unearned) on eight hits in six innings of work.

The Herd left two on base in the second and one more in the third to finish 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
From the third inning on, Laffey retired 15 of 16 batters faced, including 13-straight at one point to earn the win. Kenny Wilson, AJ Jimenez, Dan Johnson and Jared Goedert each had a hit for the Bisons. The Chiefs are now 14-3 this season with Laffey on the mound.
