BUFFALO, NY -- Reports which surfaced Sunday indicating rock star Jon Bon Jovi was interested in buying the Buffalo Bills, elicited a determined response from Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz ---especially if it involves moving the NFL team from Buffalo to Toronto, as some reports have speculated.

After offering WGRZ-TV a terse "no comment" on the report first published by CBS Sports, Bon Jovi's publicist, Ken Sunshine, told the Associated Press on Monday that the report that Bon Jovi is actively involved in purchasing the Bills is "preposterous."

Sunshine confirmed to the AP that while the New Jersey rocker is interested in becoming an NFL owner one day, he's not currently pursuing the Buffalo Bills, and noted that the Bills are not for sale. Sunshine noted that Bon Jovi has too much respect for owner Ralph Wilson to consider engaging in discussions for buying the team.

"I would certainly encourage Mr. Bon Jovi's interest if he's looking to keep the team in town," Poloncarz told reporters on Monday. "But if he's interested in partnering with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Group to move the team to Toronto, then my response to him is go find another team, because it's not going to be the Buffalo Bills."
