BUFFALO. NY – A car that was stopped at the intersection of Niagara and Tonawanda streets in Black Rock was rear-ended by a Jeep Cherokee at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Buffalo Police Department spokesperson Mike DeGeorge said.

The Jeep took off from the scene and then crashed into a utility pole, when the occupants ran away on foot. They were arrested a short time later by police.

A female passenger in the car that was rear-ended was taken to Sisters Hospital for treatment, but there is no word on her condition at this time.

DeGeorge said the investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed so far.
