2 On Your Side is teaming up with Valu Home Centers to help the residents in the West Seneca neighborhood that was recently ravaged by floodwaters that spilled over the banks of Buffalo Creek.

The flooding, the worst in this community in 35 years, damaged approximately 70 homes. Some of those homes were severely damaged. State officials hosted an emergency response assistance team this week to help residents deal with insurance and other major damage issues.

While the families deal with their insurance companies (although some residents don't have flood insurance), they also have to deal with the reality of the major cleanup effort in front of them. 2 On Your Side has been talking to residents about their needs, and how the community can help. Now, it's time for all of us to take action.

2 On Your Side is teaming up with Valu Home Centers for a "Clean-Up Drive" to help the flood victims. Now through January 30, you can drop off needed supplies at the WGRZ-TV studios, at 259 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, during regular weekday business hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. You can also drop off/purchase supplies at any of the 17 Valu Home Center locations listed below.

"Some people have lost everything there ya know and those are our friends, those are our families, those are our neighbors, those are our customers and we feel-- we feel for them-- greatly. and that's why we want to help out," said Douglas Wasiura with Valu Home Centers.

On Friday, January 31, the supplies will be delivered to Pastor Jason Drapeau of the Winchester Community Church, 909 Harlem Road, West Seneca. Pastor Drapeau will coordinate the distribution of the supplies to the affected residents.

Some of the needed supplies include:
