TOWN OF TONAWANDA - Firefighters in the Town of Tonawanda were busy Sunday morning with a blaze in an apartment building at 2100 Sheridan Drive near Belmont.

Fire officials say it began in the kitchen of one of the 15 units in the building, and while the weather was not a big factor there was another issue. Firefighters had difficulty getting to the flames due to the clutter in the apartment.

One tenant had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

At about noon, firefighters reported the fire had been knocked down. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
