BUFFALO, NY - A really cool new business opened to the public for the first time today. Lockhouse Distillery, located in North Buffalo's Great Arrow Building, is selling vodka that's made here in Buffalo, from grapes that are grown in Niagara County.
It took a long time to get to this point. This is the first legal distillery in the city since 1920, when Prohibition abolished the industry. Opening day was a mixed blessing. The distillery's signature vodka proved so popular they sold out before the close of business.
We caught up with the owner Friday night to learn what a challenge it's been getting this unique new business off the ground.
