LOCKPORT, NY - The Niagara County Sheriff's Office took time Tuesday morning to remember some of its four-legged crime fighters.

The Sheriff's Office dedicated a new K-9 memorial to honor dogs that have been killed in the line of duty.

One of the most recent service dogs killed was Rocky who died in 2011 during a search for a potential burglar in Niagara Falls. His death led to legislation that now makes it a felony to kill a police service animal in the state of New York.
