HAMBURG, N.Y. - The 175th Erie County Fair continued Sunday with a special performance by the "King of the High Wire."
Nik Wallenda took a 1,400-foot-long tightrope walk 125 feet above the fairground's midway. His walk across Niagara Falls was 1,300 feet.
The Erie County Fair "Skywalk" was Wallenda's longest walk this year. It was twice the distance he normally attempts.
It took him just under 30 minutes to complete the walk on a wire measuring 5/8 of an inch in diameter - roughly the size of a nickel.
This test of balance, agility, and concentration was Wallenda's only major stunt before his Skywalk in Chicago later this year.
