BUFFALO, NY – You may not have known it, but Sunday was the start of National Engineers Week. Events across the country aim to get students engaged and involved in engineering, including this hands-on learning experience at the Buffalo Museum of Science.

University at Buffalo Engineering Club members put together fun and informative activities for kids in robotics, automotive engineering and other areas of the technical sciences.

And with so many kids off school for midwinter break, there will be events all week. Check the schedule on the Buffalo Museum of Science website.

According to Wikipedia, National Engineers Week was planned to coincide with George Washington's birthday because he's considered the nation's first engineer.
