AMHERST, NY - A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding corporations and contraception prompted a small but vocal rally outside a business in Amherst Saturday.
These protestors targeted the Hobby Lobby store on Transit Road to show their disappointment with the ruling which provided an exemption for the retail chain, which is closely held by family owners.
The court ruled in Hobby Lobby's favor, stating that the owners' personal religious beliefs did allow them to disregard a federal law that requires health insurance coverage for birth control.
The demonstrators say it's a dangerous precedent. They're hoping some members of Congress will look for a legislative solution to ensure access to contraception.
