BUFFALO, NY -- A woman from Buffalo who tried to hire someone to kill her mother-in-law is going to prison.
Today, a judge sentenced 29-year-old Jean Stanton to 1 to 3 years in jail after she pleaded guilty to a criminal solicitation charge earlier this year.
Police say she asked a mechanic in Buffalo to kill her mother-in-law. That person worked with police, and an undercover detective posing as a hit man caught her.
She had faced up to 7 years in prison.
