BUFFALO, NY-As Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly continues his battle to beat cancer, he's also waging another fight; this one to make sure the Buffalo Bills remain here in WNY.

Despite on-going treatments that have taken their toll, Kelly is lending his voice to efforts to make sure his former team stays put. "The Buffalo Bills are a part of life here," said Kelly. "They brought me to Buffalo, and I love this community so much that I stayed here to raise my family. Now is the time. It's absolutely critical to come out and show your support for the team this season, to show the new owners how crazy they'd be to take the team elsewhere."

As for how he's feeling these days, Kelly remains upbeat and positive. "This cancer has been rough. It's hurt really bad, and the treatments have kicked my butt. But my faith in God is strong, and I'm back home in Buffalo, working with a great team of doctors on both radiation and chemotherapy. I'm not out of the woods yet by any means, but we think the treatments are going well, and I know I'm going to beat this."

"I'm more than halfway through this initial round, and honestly, I believe that the prayers of friends, family, fans and total strangers alike has gone a long way toward making this treatment successful. I want to thank everyone fro all of the kind thoughts and prayers that have come my way."

"We have a saying in our family, and that's that we stay Kelly Tough. It means standing up and giving it your all no matter what comes your way, and sticking to your guns when it comes to what you believe in. For me, it means staying tough to beat cancer, and I want everyone in Buffalo to join me in being Kelly Tough to keep the Bills right where they belong: here in Western New York!"
