CONCORD, NY - Since the Concord standoff occurred Sunday night into the next morning, 2 On Your Side has been reporting that Mathew Eck allegedly fired at sheriff's deputies.
2 On Your Side is now hearing reports that Eck shot at other homes in the area.
A captain with the sheriff's office says Eck did fire at neighboring homes. What's unclear at this point is if he actually hit those homes and if so, whether police think these shots were intentional or not.
Captain Greg Savage of the Erie County Sheriff's Office says investigators are interviewing people who say that Eck shot at their homes. One neighbor of Eck's told us off camera Monday night that a bullet went through his home and got lodged in a wall.
This resident lives about a third of a mile from the suspect, meantime, Eck has relatives living next door. And, this was the house that officials say Eck's wife ran to with their children, when according to police, he began firing.
REPORTER: Do you know if he was also shooting at the neighbor's house which is a relative?
SAVAGE: I'm not going to specifically comment on that, he did fire several rounds at some other residences and we're working with those people and our evidence people are collecting the evidence that exists and that will be addressed shortly as far as further charges and who they were.
As part of the evidence gathering, Savage says officials will be looking at whether or not any of those rounds actually hit any of the neighbors homes.
The sheriff's office says its investigation into the shooting could wrap up later this week.
Officials say there's no timetable on when additional charges could be filed, they may come soon or they may come after a grand jury hears this case.
