Every ticket that's bought from the game at Sweet Home will help one of their own, a student in need.

"This is a way for are whole Sweet Home community to come together and raise some money for his family and show Jacob we're 100 percent behind him," Principal Joleen Reinholz said.

The principal organized this fundraiser that involves a fun game. The Sweet home staff taking on the Buffalo Sabres alumni.

"I just want them all to know that we're all praying for him and all thinking about him and we certainly can't wait for him to get back here to school."

The money raised will go towards Jacob Murphy's medical cost and recovery.

"He's eating three meals a day now and he just gave nurse Bob a thumbs up three days ago -- so slowly but surely he's making progress," Mike Murphy said.

This past summer Jacob was struck by a car on Niagara Falls Boulevard. He is currently in Pittsburgh working hard to recover from his injuries. This night means the world to his family.

"We really have no time to be down because so many people are keeping us up -- it's just amazing, " Murphy said.

His Dad happens to be a band teacher at another school. But this night, he's joining playing with his son's school rooting for his recovery.
