- Freezing drizzle and snow flurries fell over parts of the area again Sunday. It made slick conditions worse in areas hardest hit by the recent winter blast. One of those spots is Ste. Genevieve, where many secondary streets are still snow-packed.
One family took advantage of the significant snowfall. Michael Monia is originally from Ste. Genevieve, but now lives in O'Fallon. He and his family were in Ste. Genevieve visiting this weekend. So, before they left to go home, he brought his kids to his favorite sledding spot as a child.
"They got down here last night and have been itching all night and all morning to go so luckily we were able to get them out before we head back home," said Monia.
Many Ste. Genevieve students also got good use out of their sleds over the last few days. School let out early in Ste. Genevieve on Thursday and classes were canceled Friday.
So far, there haven't been any reports of serious accidents or injuries in Ste. Genevieve because of the storm.
