BUFFALO, NY-- Buffalo Police say they're making significant progress in two recent shootings, but still do not have any suspects at this time.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda and Buffalo Mayor Byron updated the investigation on two separate shootings that happened Tuesday that claimed the lives of two teens and injured four others.
The first shooting happened on Oakmont Tuesday afternoon. Raymond Patterson, III, 14, was shot and killed. Three other males in their teens were also shot, but are expected to be ok. Police believe people in the area know the suspect and are asking them to step forward.
The second shooting happened around 10:30pm on Shirley Avenue. Ronnie Scott and Diamond Allen, both 17, were shot. Scott was taken to ECMC where he later died. Allen was shot in the leg and was treated and released. A source tells 2 On Your Side the Shirley Avenue shooting was gang related.
The two shootings are not connected, according to Buffalo Police.
Buffalo Police ask anyone with information on either shooting to call the Buffalo Police Confidential TIPcall line at 847-2255.
