BUFFALO, NY-- An Orchard Park man accused of killing his father was in court Friday.

Sean Keenan, 21, was arraigned on second degree murder, assault and attempted escape charges. He entered a not guilty plea and will continue to be held without bail until his next court appearance in September.

In court, his attorney also reserved the right to request a mental examination for his client at a later date.

Keenan is accused of killing his father, John Keenan, 70, in their Hillsboro Drive home July 7. The Erie County District Attorney says Sean Keenan allegedly beat and/or stabbed his father.

Sean Keenan is also facing an attempted escape charge. Officials say that he allegedly tried to escape while in police custody, causing injury to an Orchard Park Police officer.

If convicted, Keenan could face a maximum of 32 years to life in prison.
