TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY--- An 83-year-old Town of Tonawanda woman is facing charges in connection to her husband's death.

Phyllis Eson is charged with murdering her husband Norman Eson, 89 in their Hawthorne Avenue home on July 6.

Police were called to the home by the landlord to check on the Eson's welfare. When officers arrived, they say they were greeted by Phyllis who had blood on her clothes.

Officers found Norman's dead on the floor. An autopsy revealed that Norman died of blunt force trauma to the head.

A judge ordered Phyllis Eson to undergo a forensic evaluation. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.
