EVANS, N.Y.- State Police locked up a Vermont man Sunday after they say he shot a gun into the air right in the middle of the thruway.
Police got a call from a driver on the Thruway in Evans who said he'd been cut off by a white pickup truck, which started an exchange of gestures and words. The driver who was cut off says he threw a soda can at the pickup and sped away- then heard two gunshots and saw a gun out the passenger-side window.
Police caught up with the pickup and found a pistol inside. They charged 36-year old James Henderson II with two felony weapon possession counts, felony reckless endangerment, and misdemeanors of menacing and weapon possession for brass knuckles that they also found inside.
Henderson was remanded to Erie County Jail on $50,000 bail.
The driver of the pickup, 32-year old Jonathan Henderson of Indiana, was given a traffic ticket.
