The crisis in Ukraine continued to heat up on Thursday.
Russian forces in Crimea seized three Ukrainian warships, and Ukraine's ambassador says it appears that Russia is preparing for a military "invasion" of parts of his country. President Obama's answer to the news was the announcement of new sanctions against Russia.
The president says the U.S. is using the sanctions on both the Russian government and some of its prominent private citizens. Russia responded by naming sanctions against members of President Obama's National Security Council.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops continue to fortify their eastern border with Russia. But, experts say, Ukraine is a much weaker country and Russia could roll over their forces without any great amount of effort.
