BATAVIA, N.Y. -- A third robbery in just a week in Batavia has police asking for the public's help to find a suspect.

The latest robbery happened at about 3 a.m. Sunday at the Days Inn on Oak Street in Batavia. That followed earlier robberies this week at a Best Western and 7-Eleven in Oakfield.

Police say it's possible the robberies could be connected, although they're unsure at this point.

In the most recent case, police say the suspect threatened the employee at the Days Inn with a shotgun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, including a tray of coins.

Police describe that man as a male wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a bandana over his face. He's believed to be about 5'7" tall and weigh approximately 200 lbs.

The description is "similar" to what witnesses described at the other two robberies in the city.

In all three crimes, a gun was used.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Batavia Police at 585-345-6350. You can also contact the Genseee County Sheriff's Office at 585-343-5000.
