HAMBURG, N.Y.-A local school district that's been plagued with problems is now calling for its newly elected board members to resign.

An very motivated group of concerned parents calling themselves "Hamburg Education Information You Should Know" met for a work session tonight in Hamburg.

There are about 250 people in the grassroots group And they are developing petitions and writing letters to lawmakers and the state education department asking for the board to be disbanded.

"We have a board right now that has personal vendettas to settle and in doing that they are operating in a manner that is leaving the kids behind," said organizer Ed Piazza.

The group says getting the state education department to remove the board is a huge undertaking but they plan to pursue it.

Their next meeting is December 2 at the Presbyterian Church in Hamburg and there's more information on their Facebook page.
