ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.-Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh triggered an outpouring of criticism of the Bills. Much of the criticism has been directed at rookie quarterback EJ Manuel.

Manuel's teammates were quick to point out that the team didn't play well and that its not all on him. As the frustration mounts wide receiver Stevie Johnson said "We need one of those gritty football games, like the Miami game where we pulled it out and came together, that's just what we need right now as a team. To get one of those tough games and win where things go good and go bad. Know that we can overcome it. Just have to get one of those games in and keep trying to figure this thing out."

Running back Fred Jackson added Its not fair to just blame EJ. Being he's our quarterback you know that's going to happen. Quarterbacks take a lot of blame for losses and things like that. As a team we didn't play well and that's not his fault so this has to be one of those games you kind of just flush."

For his part Manuel is apparently not feeling the pressure. "We want to win. I think that's the biggest thing, you can't look at it as pressure. Just have to look at it as, it's the situation. We're 3-7 and we still have some games, or a lot of games left, opportunities ahead of us. We've just got to put all of our efforts in to this week and then have a bye week. We have to take care of the Jets first."

For now the Bills are left with that awful feeling that goes with having a won loss record of 3-7. Center Eric Wood said "It's really disappointing. Obviously this isn't where we want to be sitting. This isn't where we thought we'd be sitting. We've faced a lot of adversity this year, and I thought we've handled it well. We just haven't pulled out close games. Yesterday obviously wasn't a close one, but that's what kind of built this 3-7 record. Yeah, we didn't play well. We didn't make enough plays, plain and simple. I don't know if taking a step back is the appropriate word, but we didn't play well. We definitely have some work to do."

The Bills are home against the Jets Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 o'clock at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
