EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The NY Daily News touted it as the "Diaper Bowl," a much-hyped match-up of two highly-hyped rookie quarterbacks. In the end,Geno Smith came out on top and EJ Manuel wound up on his back all day.

Smith went 16 of 29 for 381 yards and two touchdowns. Manuel was 19 of 41 for 243 yards and 1 touchdown.

The big story was how the Jets defense came into the game hungry and ate up the Bills. Manuel had only been sacked once in the first two games of the season; this afternoon, Manuel was sacked eight times.

Many of the problems for the Bills could be attributed, at least in part,to injuries suffered during the game. The Bills lost CJ Spiller (knee), Leodis McKelvin (hamstring),Marcell Dareus (ankle), and Alex Carrington (knee).

At the end of the day, though, EJ Manuel took big steps back Sunday as hewas consistently over-throwing his receivers, rushing passes, and misreading coverage.

Coach Doug Marrone said that difficulties in establishing the run game early led to the problems with the passing game. "When you have that kind of inability, obviously it hinders us from doing what we would like to do," said Marrone.
