Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Washington Nationals pitcher Jordan Zimmermann will miss the 2013 All-Star Game due to neck tightness.
Zimmermann had an MRI on Friday that revealed an issue with some soft tissues in his neck, a day after the right-hander gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.
His neck has been an issue since he woke up with pain in the middle of May. Zimmermann will, however, attend the events at Citi Field in New York with his family.
The 27-year-old Zimmermann was set to appear in his first All-Star Game. He is 12-4 this season with a 2.58 ERA in 19 starts.
