MONTREAL (AP) - Danny Briere is heading home to his native Quebec, agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

The team announced the deal with the former Philadelphia Flyers center on Thursday. The 35-year-old Briere had his contract bought out by the Flyers last week, making him a free agent.

Briere has 282 goals and 373 assists in 847 career NHL games with Phoenix, Buffalo and Philadelphia.
