BALTIMORE (AP) - Oxbow, a 15-to-1 longshot under 50-year-old jockey Gary Stevens, has captured the 138th Preakness Stakes in a huge upset, in the second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course. It's the sixth Preakness champion for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

"I get paid to spoil dreams," Lukas said after the race.

Stevens, a Hall of Famer who came out of a seven-year retirement this year, has now ridden winners in three Preakness Stakes. Stevens gunned Oxbow out of the gate early and was never seriously challenged. He hit the wire in a minute, 57.54 seconds to win by three lengths. Itsmyluckday ran second and Mylute was third.

Orb, the 3-year-old winner of the Kentucky Derby, never fired. Orb got boxed in along the backstretch and finished fourth at 3-to-5 odds.

There has not been a Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.
