Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Jay Bruce ripped two doubles and his third home run of the season as the Cincinnati Reds used a seven-run third inning to get past the Milwaukee Brewers, 13-7, at Great American Ball Park.
Todd Frazier, Xavier Paul and Devin Mesoraco all had two hits apiece and combined for seven runs scored for Cincinnati, which won its major league best 15th home game.
Mat Latos (4-0) labored through six innings, allowing seven runs -- six earned -- on nine hits and three walks but earned the win and helped himself at the dish, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Latos has won eight straight decisions going back to last season.
His counterpart Hiram Burgos (1-1) struggled to get through three innings in the fourth start of his major league career. Burgos was smacked around for 12 runs -- 10 earned -- on 11 hits before giving way to the Brewers' bullpen.
Jean Segura went 4-for-5 with a homer and three runs scored while Ryan Braun extended his hitting streak to 12 games with his seventh double of the year. Norichika Aoki also went deep for the Brewers, losers in eight of nine.
