AMHERST, N.Y- Clarence outlasted Sweet Home on the diamond Friday night, with a narrow 3-1 victory. Thegame wastied1-1 untiltheRed Devils'Justin White singledhome thegame winningruns in the top of the6th inning.

White's 2 RBI'sand game winninghit was his one and only at-bat of the game. Mark Armstrong went 1-3 on the day forClarence with a single, and Devin Goeller scored 2 of the Red Devils 3 runs.He wassingledhome in the second inning by Ryan Nicholas to tie the game at 1, and was the go ahead run in the 6th inning from White's RBI.

"Wefound a way to get it done again" said Clarence Head Coach Dave Smith, " We've won a lot of closeball games. The kids have a knack to get it done, and there iscertainly something to be saidfor that. They got it done today in another close ball game".

Ryan Jelonek was awarded the win on the mound for Clarencewith four strikeouts infour innings of work. Coach Smith is glad that his kids are able to pull out these close wins against very good teams every night. "There's inherent pressure in our division, there's a lot of good ball clubs. To face everyone's best makes you a better ball club. Everyday we play a pretty good ball club, were fortunate to scrape these wins together" said Coach Smith.

The star of the night in the loss for Sweet Home was their pitcher Brandon Pistner.Clarence's Coach Smithwas impressed with the Sweet Home's Junior pitcher, and how he was able to keep thePanthers in the game. " The pitcher was great, he through strikes and kept them in the ball game. He made us hit the ball and then they made the plays. If you don't give the game away then it's tough to take. They made us win the ball game. He played well".

Sweet Home Coach Derek Zgoda was extremely impressed with the way his guy pitched today as well. " I was very proud of the way he pitched. Clarence is extremely talented,Brandon gave us a chance to win today" said Coach Zgoda. " We have a young team that has been battling. We've been on the wrong side of many close games this season, I'm very proud of these guys".

Clarence keeps its undefeated season in check, after this win they improve to 13-0 overalland look forward to hosting West Seneca West on Monday.
