AMHERST, N.Y.-It was a long tough day for Amherst against Kenmore West. The Blue Devils beat the Tigers 9-1 in WNY Federation Hockey action Saturday afternoon at the Northtown Center.

While Amherst is having a tough season Kenmore West is having a remarkable turnaround from last season when they 0-19-1. The Blue Devils improve to 5-4 with the win. Head coach Tim Knight told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "we didn't win a game all last season so we're much better than we were. I think we played well. Amherst is a little down this year. We came out and did what we had to do. We got our backup goaltender a period and we were able to work on our power play. We play Grand Island Thursday and Sweet Home Saturday so we're hoping to continue playing well."

For the Blue Devils # 10 Chris Selak had two goals. Sophomore # 26 Ben Gallivan also lit the lamp twice for the Blue Devils. Nate Butkowski, James Stewart, Stephen Hermann, Tom Ryan and Matt Prohaska each had single goals for the Blue Devils.
