San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Evan Roquemore posted 16 points and handed out five assists as he helped guide the Santa Clara Broncos to a 75-54 win over the San Jose State Spartans in non-conference action at The Event Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Broncos (6-2), as they picked up their second straight win, was Raymond Cowels with 13 points and Kevin Foster who tallied 11, coming up far short of his 21.3 ppg heading into the meeting. Marc Trasolini logged nine points and a game-high nine rebounds for the visitors.
The Spartans (5-4) were paced by James Kinney with a game-high 19 points, while Chris Cunningham, a former Santa Clara player, shot only 2-of-10 from the floor to finish with six points and a mere four boards, snapping a run of five straight games with double-digit rebounds.
SJSU connected on a mere 30.4 percent from the floor in the first half, leaving the squad with a 44-25 deficit at the break.
In the second half it was more of the same for the Spartans as they knocked down only 21.6 percent from the field, en route to a lopsided setback that snapped a three-game win streak.
The hosts made a total of just 15 field goals on 60 attempts, all while turning the ball over 18 times.
