AMHERST, N.Y.-UB football coach Jeff Quinn held his final press conference of the season Tuesday at UB stadium. Quinn who recently got a contract extension from the university said he was encouraged by the way the team finished the season winning three out of their last four games. UB finished the season with an overall record of 4-8 and 3-5 in MAC conference play.
The return of many key players has Quinn extremely optimistic about the 2013 season. He said "a lot of those guys are coming back, if you take a look at the results of who was doing the bulk of the work and playmaking ability it was in the junior and sophomore and freshman class, so I'm excited about it and I'm excited for me because of the potential of this football team its in a much better place than it's been."
Running back Branden Oliver returns for his senior season. Oliver missed six games with a knee injury. Als among those returning are wide receiver Alex Neutz and quarterback Joe Licata. Neutz will be in his senior season while Licata, who started the last four games of the season as a redshirt freshman will be in his sophomore season. In all the Bulls returns nine on offense next season and 12 players who have started at least one game on defense.
UB opens the 2013 season August 31st at Ohio State.
