ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams missed practice on Wednesday and had a procedure done to his injured wrist, according to head coach Chan Gailey.
Gailey spoke with reporters on Wednesday afternoon during the Bills bye week.
Williams is expected to return to practice next week, according to Gailey.
Williams signed a six year, $100 million contract with the Bills during the off-season. He has been considered a disappointment registering 3.5 sacks in seven games with the Bills.
Last month, Williams told reporters he was dealing with an injured wrist. The Bills were later fined $20,000 by the NFL for not disclosing the injury.
