BUFFALO, NY - A local business is once again working to make sure every girl can shine on prom night.
Urban Valet Dry Cleaners kicked off its annual prom dress drive on Monday. They're collecting gently used dresses for the next four weeks to hand out to girls for free.
Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon is a part of the drive that collected more than 600 dresses last year.
"So many of these dresses are worn for a couple of hours, and people will spend hundreds of dollars on dresses that are worn for only a couple of hours," says Dixon. "So this is a great opportunity for somebody else to enjoy that same dress."
Girls will be able to pick up dresses April 5th and 6th at the Performing Arts Dance Studio in Hamburg.
They'll be collecting the dresses through March 21st at a bunch of locations around Western New York. Here is the list:
- Urban Valet, Hamburg - 106 Evans Street
- Urban Valet, Buffalo - 620 Elmwood Avenue
- Urban Valet, Orchard Park - 4081 N. Buffalo Road
