Day Out with Thomas! Medina Railroad Museum, 530 West Avenue, Medina. All aboard for a 25 minute ride with a full size Thomas the Tank Engine! Storytelling, live music, build with Mega Bloks, meet Sir Topham Hatt, more! May 9-11 & 16-18.

Wine Trail Blossoms. Vizcarra Vineyards, 3724 Quaker Road, Gasport 14067. The Niagara Wine Trail is celebrating its 12th anniversary with their annual Wine Trail Blossoms event. Wine Trail Blossoms is sure to showcase the wineries spring preparations. Pre-sale event tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online through May 8th at niagarawinetrail.org. Tickets include a tasting of 3 wines for each participant and a flower from each winery. Ticket holders will also receive a commemorative wine glass and carafe flower vase from their starting winery. Cost: $40/single; $70/couple.

Lilac Festival. 249 Highland Ave., Rochester 14620. 10-day free festival inspired by a magnificent lilac collection with over 500 varieties of lilacs on more than 1,200 bushes. This event is perfect for all ages. Visitors will see not only nature's bounty in abundance, but exhibitors, food vendors, entertainment, children's activities and much more. On May 10, 11, 17 & 18 you can also enjoy the Arts & Crafts Show (10:30am-6pm on Saturdays, 10:30am-5pm on Sundays).

10am-4pm: Visit the Buffalo Zoo! Enjoy the zoo's fascinating animal exhibits, naturalistic wildlife habitats, beautiful garden areas and several unique areas in which to enjoy an environment full of fun, adventure and history. The Buffalo Zoo is open daily rain or shine!

10am-5pm: National Public Gardens Day at the Botanical Gardens. Dollar Day! Admission is only $1; Members and kids under 3 are always Free! National Public Gardens Day is a national day of celebration to raise awareness of America's public gardens and their important role in environmental stewardship and awareness, plant and water conservation, and education in communities nationwide.

Mummies of the World Exhibit. Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo 14211. The largest exhibition of mummies and related artifacts ever assembled. A never-before-seen collection of naturally and intentionally preserved mummies. This compelling collection includes ancient mummies and important artifacts from Europe, South America, as well as ancient Egypt, dating as far back as 6,500 years.

5:30pm: Au-Some Evening. Explore & More Children's Museum, 300 Gleed Ave., E. Aurora 14052. Once a month, these special evenings will give children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their friends and family an opportunity to play and learn together in an understanding and supportive environment. Children, siblings and friends are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the visit. Children will have access to the museum and Imagination Playground blocks for more physically active play. 7:30pm: Tribute to Patsy Cline. Lancaster Opera House, 21 Central Avenue, Lancaster 14086. The look and sound of one of the greatest singers in the history of country music, the late Patsy Cline is brought to life when Amberley Beatty steps on stage. 9-10:30am: Bird Walk. 1420 Yubadam Road, Portville. Join Pfeiffer Nature Center at their Yubadam Road location for a walk through the meadows, transition area and woods seeing out migratory birds as they use song and dance to court potential mates! Free. Reservations appreciated.

9am-4pm: 3rd Annual Zoar Valley RiverFest! Gateway Park, 241 Palmer Street, Gowanda 14070. All day festival to celebrate Zoar Valley with kayaking, rafting, hiking and bus tours! Come hang out and have some fun on the water or join in one of the 3 races that will be held. Peruse the vendors and enjoy the music provided by Fingers X'd (crossed) as well as other local talent.

9am-5pm: Sensational Saturday. Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston 14092. This free family fun event features basics of electricity programs, displays and interactive exhibits relating to the production of electricity, energy efficiency and the area's history, plus spectacular views from the observation deck, 350 feet above the Niagara River Gorge. Wild Game Safari Tours. Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, 2887 Royce Road, Varysburg 14167. Embark on a 1 hour guided trolley tour through Hidden Valley Animal Adventure Park and experience over 30 different species and 400 animals. Get up close with the wild as camels, zebras, wildebeests, emus, and more come right up to the trolley. Admission includes a cup of grain to feed to the animals and admission into the Small Animal Adventure where you can interact with friendly smaller animals. Park is open 10am-6pm.

The BPO's own principal cellist, Roman Mekinulov, is the star of this evening, as he performs the world premiere of Miguel del Aguila's Concierto Tango, written expressly for him. Del Aguila will be available to answer questions before each performance of the concert, and will also join Mekinulov and the BPO onstage for this piece, performing the piano part.

Proceeds from the Walk benefit Mary's Wig Room at the American Cancer Society. Mary's provides 100's of FREE wigs per year to local women undergoing treatment for cancer. The Hot Country Line Dancers will be performing, along with Glenda Chausse singing our theme song and more. There will be a basket auction and 50/50 raffle happening throughout the day.
