He was a Thursday night fixture on NBC for a decade as part of the "Friends" cast, and now Matthew Perry returns to the network in a new comedy that debuts tonight during the network's Olympics coverage.
You can watch the new program tonight at 11pm, following Olympic coverage.
Perry plays sports radio talk show host Ryan King in "Go On".
He's forced into group therapy after the sudden death of his wife.
"This show has both elements. It's a really funny show. Very dramatic at times. It seemed like a really good move for me," Perry says.
Having dealt with his own substance abuse issues in the past, Perry connected with his new character's coping mechanisms.
"He has some sort of dark, emotional stuff to deal with, but doesn't want to. So he masks that by being funny. And I, oddly enough, can relate to that," he says.
NFL star Terrell Owens makes an appearance in the first episode and, you're likely to see more big names from sports show up on the series.
