LEWISTON, N.Y. - Brandon Wu fired a final round 64 to win the Porter Cup championship Saturday at the Niagara Falls Country Club. Wu started the day tied for the lead with three others, but his six under par effort gave him a three stroke win.
Christopher Petefish finished second, and Gavin Hall was third.
Wu finished 11 under par for the tournament. Wu is a sophomore at Stanford. It was his first Porter Cup. He said afterward he would be back next year to defend his title. Wu had a string of three straight birdies and finished the day with six.
Wu said the atmosphere is incredible.
"I've never really experienced anything like this before, so it was awesome to have all the fans really into it, all come out today. I think, I've never seen so many people on this green before so that was pretty special and a cool experience to have," said Wu.
