Hurricanes activate Pitkanen

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes have activated defenseman Joni Pitkanen from injured reserve.

Pitkanen missed seven games with a lower body injury and the team went 3-4-0 without his presence in the lineup.

Over 12 games prior to the injury, the 29-year-old posted a goal and five assists along with a plus-8 rating.
