Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens have extended their
affiliation agreement with Hamilton of the American Hockey League for another
three years.
Hamilton has served as Montreal's primary minor league affiliate since the
2002-03 season. In 11 seasons with the Canadiens, the Bulldogs have appeared
in two Calder Cup Finals and won the championship in 2007.
"To grow and develop talent in your farm system you need first class
facilities, stability and strong support and this is what the Bulldogs have
enjoyed in Hamilton with Copps Coliseum, the community and great fans," said
Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin in a statement Friday. "We're very
pleased that our partnership will continue on for many years to come."
Hamilton also signed a three-year agreement to remain in the Copps Coliseum.
