Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers have placed safety
Haruki Nakamura on injured reserve, ending his season.
The fifth-year defensive back sustained a groin injury in the fourth quarter
of Sunday's 30-20 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
In 2012, his first year as a starter, Nakamura has totaled 54 tackles, two
interceptions and four passes defensed in 13 games.
Carolina promoted safety Anderson Russell from the practice squad to fill the
roster spot.
