Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The WNBA announced Thursday that its draft
lottery will be held November 10 in New York City.
The lottery typically involves the four non-playoff teams, but Washington,
which finished with the second-worst record last season at 6-28, dealt its
2012 first-round pick to the reigning WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx in April
for center Nicky Anosike.
Tulsa, which was last in the league at 3-31, has the best odds of obtaining
the first overall pick at 44.20 percent. The Lynx have a 27.60 percent chance
of winning and are followed by Chicago (17.80 percent), which went 14-20, and
Los Angeles (10.40 percent), which compiled a 15-19 mark.
San Antonio will have the fifth pick in the first round, followed by Phoenix
and New York. Washington acquired the eighth and ninth selections from Atlanta
and Seattle, respectively. Connecticut, Indiana and the Lynx own the last
three picks.
