Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors acquired veteran point
guard Sebastian Telfair from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for reserve center
Hamed Haddadi just prior to Thursday's trade deadline.
Telfair has averaged 6.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds over 46 games
this season, his second with the Suns. Over nine NBA campaigns with six
different teams, the 27-year-old journeyman has averaged 7.5 points, 3.5
assists and 1.6 rebounds.
The former first-round pick, who will be an unrestricted free agent at
season's end, has also played for Portland, Boston, Minnesota, the Los Angeles
Clippers and Cleveland in addition to the Suns.
Haddadi began the season with Memphis before being shipped to Toronto on Jan.
30 as part of the deal that sent standout forward Rudy Gay from the Grizzlies
to the Raptors. The fifth-year pro did not appear in any games with Toronto
following the swap.
The Iran native has averaged 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds over 134 career NBA
games.
