Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Hisashi Iwakuma worked six shutout innings to
guide the Seattle Mariners to a 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels of
Anaheim, in the middle test of a three-game set at Safeco Field.
Iwakuma (9-5) allowed six hits and struck out seven to win his third straight
start.
Michael Saunders went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI and Kyle Seager
had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the Mariners, who snapped a
four-game skid.
Dan Haren (12-13) allowed five runs -- three earned -- on seven hits and
struck out eight over six innings.
Howie Kendrick knocked in the lone run for the Angels, who were eliminated
from playoff contention on Monday following the Oakland A's 4-3 win over the
Texas Rangers.
