Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia was put on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday due to a Grade 1 groin strain.

Due to the All-Star break, the left-hander is only expected to miss a pair of starts.

In 15 games this season, Sabathia has fashioned a 9-3 record with a 3.45 ERA. He has thrown one complete game.

Freddy Garcia, who is 1-2 with a 6.91 ERA in 13 games (4 starts), will take Sabathia's spot in the rotation.
