Class AA:
Jamestown and Orchard Park should be locks. Frontier should defeat Niagara Falls, provided they avoid penalties and turnovers. Clarence has a tough matchup at Lockport and will find it difficult to contain James Chambers who has scored 24 touchdowns this season and quarterback Dan Bronson.
Prediction: Semi-Finals
Frontier at Jamestown
Orchard Park at Lockport
Class A:
Sweet Home and West Seneca East are locks. Grand Island should have a tough time stopping the Chiefs Matt Keating, Nate Wilkinson and Tyler Miller. The Vikings are not sure of quarterback status for the game. The Billies matchup versus McKinley is the best of the quarterfinals. The Billies have to deal with exceptional speed and play of Jamar Rutledge, Stephon Johnson, and Reyzon Jordan. Johnson's matchup with Chaq Nettles will be classic. Sam Castranova, Sam Cohen, and Nettles will have to get it done offensively. The Billies averaged over 40 points and lost 2 games.
Prediction: Semi-Finals
Iroquois at Sweet Home
West Seneca East at Williamsville South
Class B:
Alden and Cheektowaga should be locks even if Marquel Jackson doesn't play for the Warriors. Springville has been on a roll recently and went from the outhouse to the penthouse in a matter of weeks. Griffiths could matchup with Eden but would have to stop "wing t offense." Depew versus Burgard is one of the Best games. The strength of the Bulldogs is speed and physicality. The Wildcats need to avoid turnovers. The Bulldogs are tough on turf.
Prediction: Semi-Finals
Springville at Alden
Burgard at Cheektowaga
Class C:
JFK should defeat Cassadaga Valley. All other games are tossups. The Golden Eagles matchup at Salamanca is a tough one. The venue is great and the Warriors have a franchise player in Tanner John. Glen Grahams squad will have to get over the disappointment over their loss to JFK. If they avoid penalties and turnovers, they should defeat the Warriors.
Prediction: Semi-Finals
Allegany/Limestone at JFK
Wilson at Cleveland Hill
Class D:
All teams compete in the playoffs. Maple Grove and Randolph are lock while the other games are toss ups. Silver Creek has won 3 straight and the Black Knights are a sleeper team.
Prediction: Semi-Finals
Portville at Maple Grove
Silver Creek at Randolph
Class DD:
The teams which win this weekend will have a bye in week 9 and compete for championship at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Prediction: Finals
Sherman/Ripley vs. Ellicottville/West Valley
