| Season Review: Class A |
| Through Week Five |
| Class A North Review |
| Sweet Home is unbeaten at 5-0 and has own 45 consecutive games against Section VI opponents. Sr. QB Jordan Johnson has been the ultimate playmaker and is a candidate for Player of the Year Honors. Juwan Douglas has been a steady force for the Panther rushing attack. Tim Oaks and John Franklin excel at running after the catch. Defense has been Panther-strength, allowing only 42 points. Rashaad Rogers is averaging double-digit tackles, and Tim Oaks is a force on defense. Have won a few close games and will win Title and earn first seed in the playoffs. Coaching staff, lead by John Faller, has done a stellar job thus far. |
| North Tonawanda: The Jacks lost a tough one in the last minute to McKinley in week one, but have dominated opponents since then. Pat Angelhow has gotten better every game and in week five, accounted for 300 yards rushing and passing for 3 TDs. Shaun O'Lay and Tyler Durham have been key players for 1-year head coach Rick Tomm. Jed Jastrzemski has averaged 12 tackles per game at the MLB position. Matchup this week against Starpoint could have impact on playoff seeding. Jacks will be a force in the playoffs. |
| Starpoint: Spartans have been a surprise behind the play of Evan Majewski, Branden Wehrmeyer, Cory Regnet, and TJ Hernandez. Will be in the playoffs and could be a team to watch as playoffs continue. Spartans are no longer under the radar screen with their upset win over McKinley |
| McKinley Macks will be in the playoffs; have outstanding 2-way player in one of the areas. Top playmaker: Stephon Johnson, has speed to burn; could face Billies in quarterfinal game, which would be a "game of the week". |
| Williamsville North has outstanding player in Trevor McDaniel, who is one of the most versatile players in Section VI. Sophomore QB Ryan Majewski has had some good games; will be in bowl game unless upset of Sweet Home. |
| Grand Island: not the Vikings of Old with a 3-6 record last year and one win this season. Injuries have also hurt Dean Santorios' squad. Eddie Krecisz is a player; will be in a bowl game. |
| Williamsville East: young squad that has struggled this year, particularly on the offensive side of the ball -- scoring only 56 points; have an excellent athlete in Soph. Jaleel Battle and quality 2-way players in Mitch Wagner, John White, and Mike Wheeler. Close with WIlliamsville South and Starpoint. Alex DiBernado threw for 3 TDs in week 5; will be in a bowl game. |
| Kenmore East has only scored 25 points this season and their defense has given up 37 points a game. Bulldogs will come in last again; will be in bowl game. |

| Class A South Review |
| Williamsville South: Billies football was one of the weakest in Section VI until Kraig Kurzanski became head coach and resurrected the program. It is now one of the best in Class A and WNY, winning 21 of their last 24 games. Jr QB Trent Ferguson has made a nice transition at the QB helm. Luke Falzone has been a force at LB and RB. Billy Jacobbi is one of the top receivers in WNY; line anchored by TJ Scammura has sparked offense to average 35 points per game. Jon Castronova is averaging double-digit tackles and leads the defense with Greg Crane and Devin Stives and Mark Nunziato. Josh Neuss is the real deal kicking for the BIllies; should beat Amherst and earn number one playoff seed. |
| Amherst: Tigers have playoff berth locked up. Matt Gallineau and Marquis have been solid defensively and Tigers have only given up 54 points. Offense has been led by Justin Twarog, Justin Burke, and Brandon Borden. Could have tough matchup in the quarterfinals. |
| West Seneca: Jim Maurino has done a solid job with his staff. Jrs. Andy Smigiera, Ryan Johnson, and Scott Ackerman have been excellent two-way players. Should be seeded third in the playoffs. |
| Bennett: Steve McDuffies has done excellent job in his first year as head coach. Javon Fogan is having a monster season on both sides of the ball to lead the Tigers. Should be in the playoffs. |
| Hamburg: Bulldogs hurt their playoff chances with overtime loss to Amherst, after leading the Bulldogs by 20. Jake Fiore has been a force for Mike McFadden's squad. Have outside chance at playoff berth, but could be a bowl team. |
| South Park Sparks looked good, being able to make playoffs before loss to Lake Shore. Maurice Howie and Chaq Nettles can light it up at any time -- with exception of last week, defense has been strong led by Dylan VanVolkenburg. |
| Lake Shore: Eagles won first game last week, dominating South Park behind Pat Gilman's 195 rushing yards and 3 TDs. With exception of week 5, have struggled to put points on the board. Will be in bowl game. |
| Iroquois: Chiefs have struggled and lost some close games; turnovers have hurt Keith Marshall's squad all season. Have opportunity to win final two games against Hamburg and Lake Shore; will be in bowl game. |
