It appears new Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray is willing to keep Ted Nolan as the coach of the team for the long term.
On Friday, Murray appeared on Sportsnet's Hockey Central at Noon program and said "I can see... where (the interim label) it won't be on for long."
Nolan was named interim coach of the team in November after general manager Darcy Regier and head coach Ron Rolston were fired.
When Murray was introduced as the new general manager on Thursday, he simply said he needed to speak with Nolan before making a decision.
No formal announcement on Nolan's title with the Sabres was made on Friday. The team would not make Murray available for an interview after he spoke with Hockey Central.
