BUFFALO, NY- Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says the Bills Stadium Working group is waiting on a state-commissioned report about possible stadium sites before holding another meeting.
Poloncarz's comments come one day after State Assemblyman Mickey Kearns (D-142) called on the group to hold their meetings in public. The group's only meeting so far was in April and in private.
"We really can't do a whole lot until that new owner's in place, so we're sort of in a little limbo period now. That's why the call for an emergency meeting makes absolutely no sense," Poloncarz said. "It shows me that that individual doesn't understand what's going on right now, which is a very, very delicate situation with the sale of the team.
The Buffalo News reported Tuesday that the commissioned report had recommended four possible stadium sites, but Poloncarz said the group has not seen the report. He also urged Kearns and other people to be patient with stadium plans, reminding them that the team is only entering year two of its lease.
